Position: Technical Sales Manager (Switchgear)

Harries Automation and Control was formed in 1984 in Llanelli, South Wales, to service the needs of the heavily industrial area with regards to Automation, PLC, Scada, wiring solutions and industrial electronic assemblies. After a progressive growth, HAC became a limited company in 1995, expanding both its customer base and areas of expertise to include hydraulic and pneumatic systems, fault finding, CAD design and LV switchgear. Our highly trained and qualified engineers possess the necessary skills to aid the electrical industry in providing a complete package from concept and design, research and development through to manufacture and end user training.
· LV Panels up to 6300A to the 61439-1 standard
· Standalone PFC panels
· 3ph and 1ph wall mounted distribution boards
· Power and lighting boards to the L2 regulations

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The main responsibility of the Technical Sales Manager is to deliver profitable sales growth through the implementation of HAC Group sales strategy. The main focus of the role will be selling our range of Switch Boards, Panel Boards, ATS Switches, Assembled Distribution Boards and Busbar into the electrical contracting market.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Track record: The successful candidate must have a demonstrable, outstandingly good, track record in profitable sales growth of related products within the South Wales Building
Services market. Presentation skills: The successful candidate will have demonstrable, good technical product and presentations skills. Communication: The successful candidate will have outstandingly good communication skills, both written and verbal, and will be able to clearly and effectively communicate with customers and fellow employees at all levels.
Attitude: The successful candidate will be a driven individual, capable of working effectively on their own and as part of a team, with a “can do” positive attitude who will represent the HAC Group Building Services in a professional way at all times. Commercial and sales expertise: The successful candidate will have strong commercial and sales skills and will fully understand the sales cycle from concept design to securing the order. The successful candidate will understand the commercial concept of profitable negotiation, be good at it and ensure that the needs of the customer and the company are understood and met, resulting in a win/win for both parties.
Technical: The successful candidate will have very strong technical skills and be able to present technical solutions to meet customer requirements.
Time management: The successful candidate will be capable of maximising and making the most efficient use of their time and that of others they work with.
IT: In order to function fully and efficiently in this role the successful candidate must be able to use all necessary IT packages for reporting, presentations, preparation of client information and in-house data collection.
Results driven: The candidate must be genuinely ambitious with a will to succeed and will be able to set goals and measure their own performance.
MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE
· To achieve a level of profitable sales growth, at acceptable margins, in line with the company’s reasonable expectations.
· To manage business expenditure and keep within the company’s reasonable budget limitations.
· To manage a reporting system in a timely fashion in line with the requirements of the business.
· An Electrical/Mechanical Engineering qualification would be preferred and experience of selling into the electrical contacting sector or in the construction products sector; or the
equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
· Applicable sales training courses.
· Good oral and written communication skills, plus a good working knowledge of CRM and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
· A valid driver’s license.
